Good morning friends!

Happy Friday to you wherever you call home. I am doing great, and finally getting some rest after a whirlwind week! I apologize for the delay with my update, as you can guess, I had to set my normal work aside in order to foucus on the book launch.

After weeks of planning, the evevnt finally took place at the Main Library downtown. It went off without a hitch, and everyone that attended had a great time it seemed. As for me, it was a nerve racking week, leading up right to the opening part by my sister Angela, who by the way did a great job as emcee. She opened the event, and did a great job greeting everyone, and covering the Gigs part one, adding a touching personal side of the adventure. Next my son Jonthan, read an excerpt from the book, followed by a read from Gigs part two, to be released in April, by my friend, writer/director, Edgar Ybarra. I followed next with my speech, and heartfelt expressions of gratitude to all the folks who took time to stop by, and support my journey, and special day! I was also proud, and happy that my family participated so much in the event, and made a family affiar!

I recieved so many compliments about the whole thing, with people saying what a unique book signing event it was. Along with sister and son, my brother David catered the event, and my nephew Ben palyed his harp while the folks waited in line for their copy. My nephew Alex helped Jonathan take the money for the sales, and my cousin Alonso did a fantastic job filming the whole event. You can see the signing in it's entirety on Utube, under Gigsacrossamerica book signing. Matt Landon, and the library crew did a great job hosting, and setting up the room for us as well.

It was a surreal feeling of finally seeing my story come full circle, as I sat on the table watching my family, friends , and even strangers gather and get excited about my book. it was a long road, but well worth the wait! Two days later, I was on the television again, on the local ABC affiliate KGUN 9's morning Blend Show, sharing my story to the city!

Now I have to finish up Gigs two, and get ready for the Tucson Book festival in four weeks, where I will be selling my book in two sparate venues. I also am working on submitting my book for sale at Barnes and Noble, and on Amazon. Don't forget it's also available now on Kindle inthe Ebook format!

Thanks again friends for your support, and I hope you get your copy in one form or another!

Hello friends,

I know that many of you are suffering from the extreme weather in most of the country, nevertheless, greetings from sunny and warm Tucson Arizona! I hope at least that you are warm and safe in your own home. I am so excited about everything that's happened this past week, something you and I have been waiting for a long time!

The countdown to my book signing event here in Tucson on Saturday the 26th has begun, and I can't wait to see some of you there. In the meantime, the great news is that the ebook version is now available on Kindle! I know that most of you online followers will not be able to attend the fabulous signing event we have planned, but now you'll be able to read all about my adventure on your own personal ebook copy. It was a frustrating few days trying to download,  or should I say upload, the manuscript but it was well worth the effort. It is a confusing, and frustrating endeavor for a technically challenged dummy like me. Of course I had to have my big sister Angie help me with the process, and she did a wonderful job of performing it. Now as I sip my coffee with Kalani  a my side, there is certainly a great satisfaction that I feel knowing all the things that I went through for this day to be possible. Many, if not all of you have been with me all the way from the beginning, all the way back to the first time I logged in and began my journey. It continues to amaze me that I've been home for 19 months, and despite the long, and sometimes arduous publishing process, that many of you find folks have continued to support and loyally check in all these years!. I certainly hope that I do not disappoint you, and that my book, and this first part of the story, meet your expectations. This will not be the last book I plan to publish this year, and as you have often read about my other manuscripts, my hope is to have them all published by the end of this this year! In the meantime I will continue to write gigs part 2, and have that one available by the end of March!

So here's my plan, and it is a lofty one. Everything I have planned about this entire adventure has come to pass, and now my aim is even bigger. I don't really know how many followers I have on this site, but coupled with you fine folks, and the following I have here in my hometown, and on my social media sites, my goal is to sell 3,000 ebook copies this first week. That is the required amount for a book to be considered a best-seller, and that would be an amazing feat for a simple guy like me to have accomplish, knowing my layman's background. I realize that a lot of people are not ebook readers, but maybe you might know some that are. That being said, the option to purchase the book as a gift on Kindle is there if you know anyone who might be interested in reading my story. Coupled with the local media coverage I have received, including television and newspaper coverage, I think it's a possibility, but only with help from a lot of people like yourself!

Once again, it has been you my loyal followers who really warm my heart, and I cannot thank you enough for your encouragement, and interest, and long-suffering! Our time has finally arrived!

I will check in next week with an update on the book signing event, and my newspaper and talk show appearances I have scheduled. Enjoy reading Gigs across America part one!

Humbly, juanjohn!

Hello friends!

Greetings from my home here on the westside of Tucson. My hope is that you find yourself warm and safe this Tuesday evening. I am doing quite well myself, after finally getting over another eye infection. Let me tell you, it's no fun seeing out of one eye folks, and even harder to type! But enough about me, and my ailments.

The real story of the week, and probably for the entire duration of this site, is the arrival of the Gigs book! After several runs, as the printer calls them, the finished product is finally complete, and will be ready for sale on the 25th of this month. The e-book version will be avialiable two days later, for all you good people that live out of the area!

I have learned so much about the printing, and publishing process these last few months, the first being, that it's something that can't be rushed. Run after run of the proof copies, had to be inspected, page by page, chapter by chapter, until it was just the way we wanted it. Each run took about ten days, and we went through five proof runs. I don't now what I would have done without Mary Ann and her husband John, during this satge of the process. They really took over dealing with the printing team, and did me a huge favor, doing things I would have been totally lost with. This stage was certinly a foreshadow of what to expect with the next book, or books I have scheduled to publish this year. For now though friends, this story is the reason I created this site in the first place, and now that we have reached this goal together, let the celebration begin!

The book signing again will be held January 26th, at 2:30 pm at the Main Library downtown. I will talk more about the event as it draws near. Thanks for checking in, and I hope to meet some of you there!
